Tina Chan Sweenie and family are relocating back to NYC for her husband’s job. Tina works part-time from home as volunteer coordinator for the Badger Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired. The other half of her time is spent with 15-month-old daughter Leila. She is looking forward to reconnecting with Skidmore folks on the East Coast.
Suerissa Butsunturn married Keith Blecher on May 23 in Brooklyn, NY, in an art gallery a mile from their apartment. Brother Chaat Butsunturn ’93 was a “bridesman.” Sue Chan made the trip from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to help celebrate and tear it up on the dance floor with Akemi Tanaka, Jodi Gartner, Salima Mathews Millott ’95, Lauren Abrams Cassidy, Matthew Montante ’98, and Mara Kennedy Montante ’98.
Last year Meredith Cutler relocated from Boston to Providence, RI, where she married her “Italian anthropologist” sweetheart, Simone Poliandri, in February. They honeymooned in Italy last summer, enjoying the warm hospitality of friends and family in and around his native city of Rome. Somewhat settled stateside in bigger digs in a smaller city, Meredith is delving into the vibrant local arts scene by covering Rhode Island arts news for Boston-based Artscope magazine and her blog Studio Debris.
Lauren Canalori and husband Lawrence Riddell welcomed daughter Kira on May 1. They live in Northampton, MA, right down the street from Patrick Rondeau and his wife, Krista. Patrick and Krista welcomed son Daniel last January. Lawrence and Patrick can be seen with the babes in the September/October issue of Mothering magazine. Lauren reports that the family enjoys life in the “happy valley.”
Jane Baldwin Henzerling and husband Daniel proudly announce the birth of son Samuel on June 18. They’re having a ball as new parents. Jane is director of advancement at Real Art Ways in Hartford, CT, and loves experiencing new and challenging art, ideas, films, and music every day. She has been in touch with artist Blue Curry ’95 about an exhibition of work by contemporary Caribbean artists that opened at Real Art Ways this month.
Adam Brand and Katie Bissell Brand ’99 announce the birth of son Robert; brother Connor is thrilled to welcome Bobby to the family.
