Not many college students enter senior year with a job offer.  Damian Hammond '19 is one of the exceptions.

An International student from Ezulwini, Swaziland, Damian spent this past summer as a member of the Summer Analyst Program at Natixis Corporate & Investment Bank in New York City.  The internship allowed Damian to work in the global markets team, rotating between the interest rate derivatives and foreign exchange sales desks.  By the end of summer, he was one of the members offered a full time position after graduation.  Shortly after, Damian contacted the CDC offering to help fellow students interested in finance careers.

"The probability of being offered a full time position is so much higher if students pursue internships with analyst programs the summer after their junior years," said Damian.

Upon returning for his final year at Skidmore, Damian worked with the CDC and Natixis to further build recruitment initiatives.  The CDC is currently promoting Natixis' "Day at the Bank hosted in New York City for members of the Class of 2020.  Students must apply by September 14 at noon to be considered.

Additionally, Natixis is recruiting for 2019 Summer Analyst Roles  within the following business areas:  Investment Banking, Global Markets, Strategic Sectors & Distribution, Finance & Treasury,  Latin America, Coverage, Operations & IT, and Risk, Compliance & Legal.  All Natixis opportunities are accepting applications on Handshake through the deadline of September 30.  Damian is willing to assist interested Skidmore students. 

"Over the last year and a half I have realized how competitive the job market is, and more specifically the finance/banking industry." said Damian. "I was blessed enough to receive a helping hand from alumni and I want to continue that trend and pay it forward to other students."

Damian recently returned from a year abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science.  During this time, he prioritized building his professional network with hundreds of Skidmore alumni, including members of the Career Advisor Network.

Even with a job offer, Damian is not exactly taking it easy his senior year.  While pursuing a double major in Economics and Management and Business, Damian is the Co-Captain of the Varsity Golf team,  Co-President of the Investment Club, and a research asistant for the economics department.  Damian will also serve as a student panelist at CDC's Wall Street 101 conference on September 28.  Also at this popular event will be alumni from Barclays, BlackRock, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Goldman Sachs, and Wallachbeth.
