The Office of Community Service Programs partners with the CDC for a Fall Volunteer Fair. 

Organizations scheduled to attend include:

• The Wesley Community
• Saratoga Senior Citizen Center
• Saratoga Public Library
• Wilton Wildlife Center
• Saratoga Mentoring
• Double H Hole in the Woods Ranch
• CREATE Community Studios AND MORE!

"Volunteering is a great way to enhance your skills and give back to the community," said Penny Loretto, career counselor for the Education/Nonprofit and Government/Law Career Communities.  "During our Volunteer Fair, students will get an opportunity to speak with representatives from a variety of local organizations."

The fair takes place Wednesday, September 26 in Case Center from 11 AM to 1:30 PM.  Students can register here, or feel free to stop in.

"Even though your schedule is already pretty tight as a college student, taking a few hours out of your week to volunteer can not only allow you the chance to do good, it can change your life and help you in your future career," said Penny. "Volunteering is also a great way to help international students integrate into the local community. "

The Volunteer Fair is just one of the ways the CDC is bridging Skidmore students and area nonprofits this semester.  Their "Meet the Nonprofit" series occurs every Wednesday from 2:30-4:30 during the fall.  Representatives from nonprofit organizations pre-select and interview students interested in spring or summer 2019 internships.

These organizations include Saratoga Bridges, Saratoga WarHorse, The Wesley Community, The Children’s Museum of Saratoga,Capital Roots, Beyond My Battle (Skidmore alum!), Saratoga Federal Credit Union, City of Saratoga Springs, CAPTAIN Community Human Services, Saratoga Farmers' Market, Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership (Skidmore alum!), and Caffe Lena.
