Year after year, Career Jam's largest group of attendees is those with jobs on their minds: SENIORS!   But Career Jam is for EVERYONE-- all majors and interests, and certainly all class years.
 
Career Jam is the largest on-campus networking event of the year. Held during Celebration Weekend, which starts this year on October 19,  this event brings parents, alumni, employers, and students together. This is an opportunity for students to connect with mentors in their field of interest to learn about graduate school, interviews, resumes and potential job or internship opportunities.
 
Starting early, first year student and neuroscience major, Jenna Lucash '22 sees Career Jam as a perfect opportunity to gain connections in the medical community.

"The thing I’m most excited about for Career Jam is definitely meeting new people in fields I’m interested in," said Jenna.  "Not only to network, but to learn more about their college, grad school, and medical school experiences so I know how to best prepare for a career in medicine, without overworking myself. "

Career Jam mentors will continue to sign up through the beginning of October.  Already listed to attend in the healthcare field include Skidmore parents Diahnn Thompkins, a dietician/nutritional consultant, Dr. Stacey Cantor- Adkins, a functional medicine physician, and Jessica Goldhirsch, a clinical medical social worker at Brigham and Women's Hospital. 

Career Jam mentors are comprised of Skidmore parents and alumni, as well as employers that represent diverse industries and occupations.  Students are encouraged to drop in any time October 19 from 3-5 PM in Murray Aikins to meet professionals who have pursued careers in arts and entertainment, computer science, finance, management & business, government, education and training, and more.
