Kim Crabbe serves as Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Career Development.  Kim manages the direction and scope of services for the CDC to best help students and alumni successfully navigate their career paths. 

In addition, Kim is the contact for Skidmore students and alumni interested in consulting and finance careers.

Kim was recently interviewed by Haley English '19, Employer Outreach Assistant.

• Tell me about yourself!
  I was born and raised in New York City, and lived there all my life until joining Skidmore in 2014.  I had been traveling to the Adirondacks for years with my family, enjoying the area's many outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and skiing.  Being able to work in the region and for Skidmore has been a dream realized.  My greatest accomplishment is my three daughters who have all graduated with liberal arts degrees, and have gone on to lead fulfilling lives of purpose.

• What experience do you have working with these industries?
  I have been helping students navigate the finance space for the past nine years, both at Skidmore and at the liberal arts college I worked at prior to Skidmore.  I have been working with students interested in consulting careers for the past three years.

• Which programs do you recommend for members of your community?
  I have two main programs that I manage in the Fall: Consulting 101 and Wall Street 101.  In addition, there is the NYC Finance Creative Thought NetWorks event in November and a career trek in the spring to NYC to visit several investment banks.

• Final words of wisdom?
  Start early! Banks and consulting firms are now filling their summer analyst programs for juniors 18 months in advance. Networking is key – come to the Career Development Center and get connected!
