$4000 this Summer? Top Tips for Applying to Summer Experience Fund (SEF) Awards

In 2018, the Career Development Center awarded 77 students of varied class years and majors with funding for summer internship opportunities. This year, it could be YOU!
But don't delay... with the Summer Experience Fund (SEF) application deadline approaching on Monday, March 25 at NOON, here are some tips to ensure a smooth application process.
Tip 1: Don't wait until the last hour (or minute)!

In the event you run into trouble uploading your materials to Handshake, and they are not submitted by noon on March 25, you will be stuck. Don't let this happen.
You can find all the awards here. Review the application criteria and get your documents ready to submit to Handshake. If you have questions, it's best to be in touch with the CDC prior to Monday, March 25. We recommend joining us for our SEF drop-in hours, which leads us to our next tip...
Tip 2: Have your materials reviewed.
The final drop-in hours to receive help with the Summer Experience Fund award applications are:

Tip 3: Apply to more than one award!
2018 Summer Experience Fund winner Grace Juneau ’20 served as a Student Artist for The Juneau Icefield Research Program.
To increase your chances of receiving funding ($4000 for the summer!), be sure to review all awards on campus and apply to anything of interest. Keep in mind that prior to applying for a Summer Experience Fund award, students must have applied for an unpaid summer internship or volunteer experience; however, the internship does NOT have to be secured prior to applying for a Summer Experience Fund award.
