From serving as a panelist during Skidmore's signature Consulting 101 event, to making himself available to provide career advice to students, Skidmore career advisor Conor Malloy '14 regularly makes the time to give back to his alma mater.
Kim Crabbe, who specializes in Finance and Consulting careers, through the Business & Finance Career Community, checked in with Conor about his role as a Career Advisor.

While at Skidmore, Conor majored in Management & Business and Mathematics. He is
currently a Senior Consultant with Deloitte, specializing in workforce transformation.
Kim: Thank you, Conor, for being an active member of our Career Advisor Network. Why are you an advisor?
Conor: I grew up in a blue collar family with no connections to the consulting industry. Connections help you learn, develop, and thrive. It’s important to support the student and alumni body – I have pride in the community that Skidmore fosters. Creative thought with technical knowledge is a powerful mindset, especially in the consulting industry.
Kim: Why should Skidmore students interested in consulting reach out to you?
Conor: I'm happy to help students learn more about the consulting industry, or discuss potential opportunities with Deloitte. I can also help connect with individuals outside of my specialty, or just be available to chat!
Kim: As an advisor, what is your favorite piece of career advice?
Conor: Identify your weaknesses but focus on your strengths; optimism and confidence
will carry you far.
