Sustainability Interviews Kick Off Science Series
The CDC announces a new science career series that will focus on environmental science/sustainability, clinical science, and scientific
research. Within each sector, industry experts- including alumni, parents and employers-
will visit campus to network with students and share information pertaining to jobs,
internships, and research opportunities in their fields.
The series kicks off on Thursday, October 17 with professionals in sustainability
careers. The day will include a networking lunch, as well as one-on-one informational interviewing opportunities with the professionals.
Read below to learn how to sign up for interviews. Students can be any class year
or major to sign up, and may interview with as many mentors as their schedules allow.
Interviews will take place in 20 minute intervals from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the afternoon
of Thursday, October 17.
Interview with Claire Superak '11, Staff Water Engineer
Meet with Claire to discuss job and internship opportunities at Arcadis, and/or to explore career paths in the sustainability/environmental science sector. Arcadis is the leading global Design & Consultancy for natural and built assets. While Claire works in Clifton Park, NY, Arcadis is a global firm with multiple locations worldwide.
Claire majored in Environmental Studies during her time at Skidmore, and went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) in Environmental Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Interview with Bob Koto, Principal/Vice President, Langan Engineering
Meet with Skidmore parent, Bob Koto, to discuss job and internship opportunities at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services.
While Mr. Koto works in Langan's headquarters in Parsippany, NJ, Langan has additional offices worldwide. Langan provides an integrated mix of engineering and environmental consulting services in support of land development projects, corporate real estate portfolios, and the oil and gas industry. Mr. Koto specializes in Environmental Remediation and Consulting
Mr. Koto received a Masters of Science in Geology from Rutgers University.

Interview with Peter Olmsted '03, Chief of Staff at NYSERDA
Meet with Skidmore alumnus, Peter Olmsted '03 to discuss job and internship opportunities
at NYSERDA and/or to explore career paths in the sustainability/environmental science
sector.
NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority), a public benefit
corporation, offers objective information and analysis, innovative programs, technical
expertise and support to help New Yorkers increase energy efficiency, save money,
use renewable energy, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
Peter studied Environmental Studies and English while at Skidmore, and went on to pursue a Masters of Energy & Environmental Policy, Energy Policy, and Administration from the University of Delaware.
