Expandable Sound
Wednesday, October 28, 7 p.m., Wilson Chapel
"Well, there are two ways to do what you want to do in music and performance. They both have to do with intention. One, you don’t have anything to do with it. You’re part of a whole and you’re a fluent vessel for all these things to come through you. And then there’s the other one, when you go into meditation with Quest. As opposed to being just a blade of grass waving in the wind, you’re a blade of grass looking in a particular focused direction in order for the wind to blow you that way.” —Pheeroan akLaff
Expandable Sound
Expandable Sound is a night of deep listening, a long-form audio collage that explores
the connections between storytelling, music, improvisation and history. Radio producers
Jake Nussbaum and Alex Lewis will present a program that weaves together original
pieces from their Expandable Sound documentary project with archival audio and rare
music. Bring a pillow and an open mind.
