All-Day Book Fair to Kick off Saratoga Reads Activities

December 7, 2006

Saratoga Reads will launch its third year of programs and activities on Wednesday, Dec. 6, with a book fair at Barnes & Noble, Route 50, Wilton. The day will offer activities for the whole family, including storytelling, readings, music, information sessions, and even a visit by Santa.

For each purchase made that day with the special book fair voucher, Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of the price to the Saratoga Reads program. The book fair runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Vouchers and the day's schedule are available at www.saratogareads.org.

"We're hoping that the community will turn out for this day of learning and fun, and that they will take the opportunity to explore the book selected by this year's public vote," said Marie Glotzbach, coordinator of the Saratoga Reads leadership team. "We urge people to use the voucher as a means of supporting Saratoga Reads."

The Saratoga Reads book selected by public vote this year is Caramelo by Sandra Cisneros. Published in 2003, Caramelo follows three generations of a Mexican-American family through the dramas of everyday life.

Saratoga Reads is a Skidmore-Saratoga collaboration.
