Students Help Make Holiday a Festive One
Skidmore students will host several opportunities for Halloween fun this weekend,
and invite children of faculty and staff to participate in the festivities. The schedule
includes the following:
- "The best haunted house in Saratoga Springs" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct.
28, at Falstaff's.
Geared toward children 12 and younger, the event will feature a tour of the haunted
Falstaff's, including the "scary kitchen" and the "spooky dungeon." Candy will be
distributed and refreshments provided.
Guests (and their parents) are welcome to dress in costume and enjoy a "boo-tiful"
fall day on the Skidmore campus. Donations at entry will be collected and provided
to a Hurricane Katrina relief charity.
- On Sunday, Oct. 29, the Education Club will host an hour of Halloween fun and games
from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Activities include face painting, Halloween tattoos and stories,
trick-or-treat bag decorating (bring a paper bag), a costume contest, a "Witch Hunt,"
and Halloween mystery boxes. All activities will be held in Northwoods Village on
the lower quad between 2 Moore Way and 3 Dayton Drive. Look for orange and black balloons
to find your way! Plan to attend, rain or shine, and be ready for some Halloween fun
before the trick-or treating begins!
- Also on Sunday, the annual apartment Trick-or-Treat, which this year will include
both Scribner Village and the new Northwoods Village, is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m.
Students living in Scribner and Northwoods will hand out candy to our the community's
little ghosts and goblins. Participating apartments will place a sign on their door
indicating their involvement in the event.
Sunday's activities are open to all children of the Skidmore community. Questions?
