Despite January's chill, the baseball season will be here before we know it.  To help young athletes prepare, Skidmore will host a two-day baseball clinic Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 18 and 19, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Sports and Recreation Center. Participation is geared toward players ranging in age from seven to 14 years old.

Led by Thoroughbred head baseball Coach Ron Plourde and assistants Eric Thompson and Bob Bogdan, the clinics are designed to teach the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, base running, catching and pitching, as well as advanced skills and techniques.  Each day will consist of different aspects of skill-development and each session will conclude with game competition.

Players will be divided by age group for each session. The cost per participant is $50.  Players are asked to bring their own gloves and bats.

For details, please call Plourde at 518-580-5380.
