Award

Pushkala Prasad, Zankel Professor of Management for Liberal Arts Students, received a $180,000 award from the Jan Wallander Foundation of the Bank of Commerce of Sweden for her contributions to and continuing research on "Patterns of Diversity and Discrimination in the Swedish Employment Sector." The award is given to scholars who have made significant contributions to the Swedish Social Sciences.

Activities

David Karp, interim associate dean of student affairs and director of campus life, was a leader of an intensive training session in restorative justice March 16-18 at Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Va.

Pushkala Prasad, Zankel Professor of Management for Liberal Arts Students, presented a paper titled "Veiled Remarks: Following the Discourse of the Islamic Headscarf in the Scandinavian Workplace" at the Qualitative Research in Management Conference April 7-9 in Albuquerque.

Pat Oles, associate professor of social work, is the author of an opinion essay titled "Voters need to be engaged, not patronized," published April 4 in the Albany Times Union.
