"Who Killed James Joyce?" is the question to be addressed by Irish folk singer Sean Tyrrell when he performs at Skidmore College on Wednesday, Oct. 20.

Free and open to the public, the performance gets under way at 7 p.m. in Falstaff's.

Drawing from the musical traditions of his native Galway, Tyrrell will summon a collection of poets, from Paul Durcan to Oscar Wilde, Seamus Heaney to W.B. Yeats, James Joyce to Patrick Kavanagh, and Rita Ann Higgins to Louis McNeice to bring home a bountiful literary harvest. Tyrrell will accompany himself on tenor guitar and a hunting mandocello.

Tyrrell's 1999 release, The Orchard, was voted "Best Folk Album" by the readers of Irish Music magazine.

Skidmore's International Affairs and Intercultural Studies programs, Department of English, and Office of Off-Campus Study and Exchanges are sponsoring the program.
