Activities

Joe Murphy, residence hall director, Office of Residential Life, recently co-presented at the Northeast Association of College and University Housing Officers (NEACUHO) Fall Drive-In at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. His presentation, titled "Just Do It - Getting Involved With NEACUHO," discussed ways for professionals in the field to become involved with the organization and build upon their professional development. He is co-author of an article by the same title that was published in the August issue of the NEACUHO publication, The Navigator.

Carol Moreau, Admissions, and Michelle Paquette, Special Programs, are members of the 25 th class of Leadership Saratoga, sponsored by the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. Members will participate in a seven-month program that provides motivated individuals with leadership potential with a variety of volunteer leadership skills and orientation into current issues facing Saratoga County.

Steve Stern, professor of English, gave a reading of his work, including his newest book, The Frozen Rabbi, Oct. 14 at Ithaca College. The event was presented by the college's Jewish Studies Program and cosponsored by the departments of English and writing.

Publications

Tracy Lea Hensley, residence hall director, Office of Residential Life, authored an article featured in the October issue of the NEACUHO publication, The Navigator. Her article, titled "Sea-Change: An Outsider's Exploration of the Northeast," provides new professionals in the housing and residential life field a majestic perspective at the many activities that are just a drive away in the northeast.

Mary Zeiss Stange, professor of women's studies and religion, and Natalie Taylor, associate professor of government, were sources for a column titled "Duke sex thesis intriguing, not inspiring for women," published Oct. 15 in the timesfreepress.com, the online edition of the Chattanooga Times Free Press. The author of the column, Holly Leber, is a Skidmore alumna.
