The spring season of the Skidmore Theater opens this Friday, March 4, with the production "Hortensia and the Museum of Dreams."

Told with a poetic lyricism, Nilo Cruz's play juxtaposes humor with drama and realism with magic. After fleeing from the dangers of Castro's Cuba, a brother and sister return and memories of loss and love resurface. Unable to face the past, the sister escapes and meets Hortensia and her museum. There she discovers a world of miracles and warmth that help her come to terms with her past.

Directed by Ilanna Saltzman, a Skidmore senior, the production runs from Friday, March 4 to Wednesday, March 9, in the Black Box Studio, Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater. All shows are at 8 p.m. with the exception of the Sunday matinee, which starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $8 for students and senior citizens. Reservations are required as seating is limited.
