Honor
Ngina Chiteji, associate professor of economics, is one of 62 new members of the National Academy of Social Insurance. Academy members are recognized experts in Social Security, Medicare and health coverage, workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, and related social assistance and private employee benefits. Individuals selected for membership have distinguished themselves by improving the quality of research, administration, or policymaking in one or more of these areas. There are currently 900 active members of the NASI.
Publications and Exhibitions
Paul Arciero, professor of health and exercise science, is a co-author of "Exergaming and Older Adult Cognition: A Cluster Randomized Clinical Trial," published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, Vol. 42, No. 2, February 2012. (Co-authors are C. Anderson-Hanley, A.M. Brickman, J.P. Nimon, N. Okuma, S.C. Westen, M.E. Merz, B.D. Pence, J.A. Woods, A.F. Kramer, and E.A. Zimmerman.) The publication led to stories in 80 national and international media outlets in early January, including CNN, Time magazine, the Albany Times Union, WPIX (New York City), the Daily Mail of London, Globe and Mail (Toronto), MD India, AGI.it (Italy), and an assortment of medical, science, and gaming blogs.

Ginger Ertz, museum educator, Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery, has a solo show through March 1 at the Lake George Arts Project Courthouse Gallery the topic of this feature in the Glens Falls Post-Star. In addition, she has work included in two new shows:
- Take Our Picture 5 at the Vantage Gallery, 176 Glen St., Glens Falls, through Feb. 19. The gallery is open Thursdays and Fridays: 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, noon to p.m.
- Allscapes at Arts Center of the Capital Region, 265 River St., Troy, through April 1.
In addition, she is one of six artists whose work is featured in Under the Sea through May 28 at Mass MoCa.
Catherine J. Golden, professor of English, has published an article on postal reformer Rowland Hill as
part of a recently released special issue on "Eminent Victorians" for Victorian Review: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Victorian Studies, Vol. 37, No. 1 (Spring 2011).
Linda Simon, professor of English, is the author of "New Light-Bulb Battle a Breeze Compared with Edison's: Echoes," published Jan. 27 on bloomberg.com.
