Activities

Hope Castro, assistant professor of education studies, moderated an April 19 panel discussion hosted by the Saratoga Film Forum. The discussion, which featured educators from the region (including Kerry  Haley Morris '81, who teaches at Greenfield Elementary School), followed a screening of the film The Finland Phenomenon, one of a series of movies presented as part of the film forum's second annual Education Film Festival.

David Howson, Zankel Director of Arts Administration, is a 2012 graduate of Leadership Saratoga. Sponsored by the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Saratoga develops a pool of leaders who can knowledgeably assume positions of responsibility within Saratoga County. The seven-month program offers participants training in various leadership skills and an in-depth orientation into countywide issues and opportunities. This year's class, the 26 th, donated more than 550 hours of volunteer time to local organizations.

Publications

Jay Rogoff, lecturer in English, has two poems, "Copp lia Tells the Facts of Life" and "Giuseppina Gets a Lesson in Courtship," in the current issue of The Southern Review, Vol. 48, No. 2 (Spring 2012). His latest piece of dance writing, "In the Moment with Trisha Brown," considers the Trisha Brown Dance Company's performances last summer at SPAC and Jacob's Pillow and appears in The Hopkins Review, Vol. 5, No. 2 (Spring 2012).
