Robert M. Hallock, visiting assistant professor of neuroscience, has had two manuscripts (with Skidmore student co-authors) accepted for publication. The first, "Somatosensation, Echolocation, and Underwater Sniffing: Adaptations Allow Mammals Without Traditional Olfactory Capabilities to Forage for Food Underwater," will appear in the journal Zoological Science. Co-authors include Sarah Marriott '11, neuroscience; Emily Cowan '11, neuroscience; and Jacob Cohen '12, psychology '12.

The second, titled "The role of pheromone responses in rodent behavior: applications and future directions for lab protocol development" will be published in the Journal of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science. Co-authors include Becky Bind, Sarah Minney, and SJ Rosenfeld, all neuroscience majors in the Class of '13.

Gordon Thompson, professor of music, reflects on the first recording released a half century ago by the Beatles, in the latest entry of his blog, hosted by the Oxford University Press.
