Lots of treats ahead

Skidmore students at Village Treats
Skidmore students welcome children during Village
Treats 2013.

Attention all half-pint ghouls, ghosts, goblins, princesses, and Power Rangers! Skidmore’s students have a special Halloween treat—just for you.

The Office of Residential Life, in cooperation with the residents of Northwoods and Sussman Village apartments, would like to invite Skidmore parents and their children to take part in “Village Treats,” the annual apartment trick-or-treat, scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26.

The event, which has become a Skidmore tradition, allows Skidmore students to distribute candy to some of the youngest members of the College community. Participating apartments will place an orange pumpkin sign on their door to indicate that they are participating in the event.

This year there are 70 apartments in the Northwoods Village and 40 Sussman village apartments participating. Goblins and their parents are asked to use the front doors of the apartments, where signs indicating apartment participation in the trick-or-treat will be posted. The front doors are safer and easier to use as they have paved walkways leading to them.

If you do not see a sign on the door/near the entrance, that apartment is not participating. All apartments have been instructed to remove the orange signs from their front doors if they are no longer participating or have run out of candy.

If you have any questions about this program, please contact Joe Murphy, area coordinator in the Office of Residential Life.

This event is open only to members of the Skidmore community.
