Golden's new children's book contines the saga of Victorian cats

Victorian Cat Tales, Book Two

Professor of English Catherine Golden has teamed up with her sister, Pam Golden, to produce a second children’s book, titled Victorian Cat Tales, Book Two:  Rose and Leopold Living Royally (Black Rose, 2014).

The new book continues the story of the two cats, who lived in Victorian England. A web site for the Victorian Cat Tales series explains that in book two, “adventures continue as Leopold fences flower, Rose proposes marriage, and the two have a wedding breakfast fit for a queen.”  The cats’ lives intersect with the history of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. As young readers follow the stories, they learn about life and customs in Victorian England.

Catherine Golden wrote the story and Pam Golden created the sculptural illustrations photographed against period backgrounds and portraits.

The books are available locally at Northshire Books and the Skidmore Shop, and online at Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.com.
