Let's celebrate!

October 12, 2016

A total of 550 families (more than 1,200 people) have registered for Celebration Weekend 2016, scheduled for Oct. 14-16 on campus. Friends and families of current students will get a peek at student life, including classes, athletic events, special activities, and the Saratoga community.

North Broadway tour
One of the most popular activities, a tour of N. Broadway.

The weekend’s schedule includes traditional favorites such as the President’s Hour with Skidmore President Philip Glotzbach, MiniCollege classes taught by Skidmore faculty, bus tours of downtown Saratoga Springs, departmental open houses, tours of the North Woods, and a concert by Filene Scholars from the Class of 2020 in the Arthur Zankel Music Center. Saturday night’s feature event, “Under the Big Top,” brings families together for student performances.

New offerings this year include a tour of the renovated Counseling Center and Health Services, and an additional walking tour of North Broadway due to popular demand.

“Skidmore is ready to offer a warm welcome to the friends and families of our students this coming weekend,” says Megan B. Mercier, director of alumni and volunteer engagement. “The weekend is always a great opportunity to showcase the College and all it has to offer, and the forecast calls for a spectacular fall weekend here in Upstate New York.”

Celebration Weekend is coordinated by the Office of Alumni Relations and College Events.
