A photo shoot with Sesame Street's Elmo caps an outing led by the Career Development Center for students contemplating the media and entertainment industry. The New York City trip featured meetings with professionals at Sesame Workshop, the New York Times, ABC News, and (thanks to composer Derek Gregor ’00) Shetler Studios in the theater district.

Gabrielle Pagnozzi-Schwam ’18, for one, was "happy to connect with Dan Silver, executive producer of ABC News Digital." At film school last summer in California, she had previewed his Disney film Queen of Katwe—which provided "a great way to start the conversation" at his office, she says.

The CDC's Pam Fisher is already organizing more programs, including another in the media and entertainment industry: a trip to Brooklyn's "young professional hotspots" such as up-and-coming media companies.
