Steve Stern, professor of English, was featured novelist at the fourth annual reading, book sale, and reception sponsored by the Community of Jewish Writers March 3 at the Congregation Agudat Achim in Schenectady.

Publications

Jordana Dym, associate professor of history, has co-edited with Mexican historians Erika Pani and Alfredo Avila a book on declarations of independence in the Americas from Philadelphia in 1776 to Haiti in 1804 to Chuqisaca (Bolivia) in 1825.  Declaraciones de independencia: Los textos fundamentales de las independencias americanas (Mexico City: Colegio de México/UNAM, 2013) emerged from a 2010 symposium on the topic held at the Colegio de Mexico. 

Denise Smith, professor of Health and Exercise Sciences, is coauthor (with Sharon A. Plowman) of the fourth edition of a textbook titled Exercise Physiology: For Health, Fitness, and Performance, published by Wolters Kluwer/Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.

Timothy Harper, associate professor and chair, Department of Management and Business, was a source for “Innovation is crucial to business success” published Feb. 17 in The Sunday Gazette.

Ron Seyb, Joseph C. Palamountain Jr. Professor of Government, was a source for “State braces for deep funding cuts — Comptroller report outlines sequestration impact” published Feb. 24 in The Sunday Gazette.
