Activities

Roscoe, an opera composed by Evan Mack, teaching professor of music, premiered at the Seagle Music Colony August 3–6. The opera, based on the namesake novel by William Kennedy, will receive a concert premiere with the Albany Symphony on October 15 at the Palace Theatre in Albany. One hundred free tickets will be available to Skidmore students.


Publications and Exhibitions

James Kennelly, professor of business and Courtney and Steven Ross Chair in Interdisciplinary Studies, is co-author (with Finbarr Bradley) of Gombeens at the Gate: Renewing the Rising through Ideals, Character and Place, published in Ireland by Teacht Aniar, and launched in Dublin in May by Irish poet Theo Dorgan.

Doretta Miller, Professor of studio art, is exhibiting her new oil painting series, "Garden Stories" at First Street Gallery, 526 West 26th St., Suite 209, Chelsea, NYC, October 4–29. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, October 8.
