Skidmore Spotlight: Marjoram Lynn
Marjoram Jonathon Lynn ‘16 is the summer operations and digital content coordinator
for the Office of the Dean of Special Programs at Skidmore College.
Lynn recently celebrated one year as Skidmore staff but worked across many offices
as a student, including Bibliographic Services and Acquisitions, The Archaeology Lab,
First Year Experience, Study Abroad, Residential Life, and the Music Department. It
was the opportunity to return to Special Programs after working with the Office as
a student that drew Lynn to Skidmore professionally.
“I fell in love with the rush of ‘Summer at Skidmore’,” said Lynn. “It's so special to now help others experience what made me stay at Skidmore each and every summer as a student.”
The support and sense of community is what Lynn finds most enjoyable about working at Skidmore. Specifically, it’s the respect they experience as a member of Special Programs that allows Lynn to feel comfortable as a person of intersecting identities at the College.
“It’s so nice to know that, even though my work has nothing to do with diversity in
a concrete sense, I am valued as part of our institutional diversity and encouraged
to continue to explore and grow in many ways related to my identities.”
Outside of work, Lynn’s passions include musical performance as a member of the Skidmore
Chorus and Vocal Chamber Ensembles and making baked goods.
