Skidmore Spotlight: Denise Bruno

October 4, 2018

Denise Bruno, a teacher at the Skidmore’s Greenberg Child Care Center for the past eight years, says “she especially enjoys working with the babies” in the infant room.

Bruno is a certified teacher who studied early childhood education and worked as a nanny for 14 years before coming to Skidmore. At Skidmore, she describes her work as similar to her home life.

“I do the same thing at home and at work,” said Bruno, who just gave birth to her third child on Sept. 19. “I like the infant room because you get to see the babies grow. They start off so little and are walking in no time. They develop so quickly.”

She also said she appreciates the sense of community at Greenberg.

“You get to enjoy the kids moving and transitioning through each of the areas and connecting with all of the center's teachers,” she said. “Some of the Greenberg teachers get to baby-sit too and stay connected with each of their families.”

Bruno is now on leave, but returns to campus in December.
