Christopher Mann, assistant professor in the Department of Political Science, was quoted in an article about congressional races in upstate New York by The Associated Press that was published by multiple media outlets.

Minita Sanghvi, assistant professor in the Department of Management and Business, spoke about her research on gender and biases on “the Academic Minute” on WAMC.

 

Award and Publication

Lucy OremlandCsilla Szabo

Sijia Fan '18, Ran Tao '18 and Kaifeng Yang '19 – students of Lucy Oremland and Csilla Szabo of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics – have won a $10,000 COMAP Scholarship and INFORMS Award for their winning paper in the Mathematical/Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM). In preparation for the contest, the students took a course series designed to prepare them and funded by the IdeaLab through a grant provided by the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations. Over 20,000 teams participated in this international math modeling competition and only four COMAP Scholarships and six INFORMS awards awarded. Their winning paper was selected for publication and appeared in the summer 2018 issue of the UMAP Journal (Undergraduate Mathematics and its Applications).

Mary Zeiss Stange

Mary Zeiss Stange, professor emerita of women's studies and religion, is a Democratic candidate for a seat in the Montana Senate, District 19. The motto of her campaign is "Unity Through Community."
