Faculty Staff Achievements March 4, 2026

Jason Breves, professor of biology, co-authored “Prolactin signaling in the highly osmotolerant Mozambique tilapia, Oreochromis mossambicus,” published in General and Comparative Endocrinology. 

Lindsay Buchman, artist-in-residence, was awarded a 2026 Lighthouse Works Fellowship in visual art. Buchman will spend six weeks in residence on Fishers Island, New York.

Edgard Soares, visiting assistant professor of health and human physiological sciences, and Stephen Ives, chair and professor of the health and human physiological sciences department, published "Caffeine Supplementation Increases Muscle Strength, but Not Endurance, While Both Caffeine and Its Expectation Elevate Blood Lactate: A Balanced-Placebo Design Study" in the journal Nutrients.

Murat C. Yildiz, associate professor of history, recently discussed his new book, “The Ottoman World of Sports: Refashioning Bodies, Men, and Communities in Late Imperial Istanbul,” on the Turkey Book Talk.
