Dear Classmates,
It seems like just yesterday that many of us were back together in Saratoga Springs celebrating our 40th Skidmore Reunion, reconnecting with old friends and enjoying the beautiful campus. However, that particular yesterday was more than four years ago and our 45th Reunion is quickly approaching in May 2009. Hopefully, many of our '64 classmates will return once again for that occasion. If for some reason, however, that will not be possible, we will, with your help, publish a Class History that will include interesting information and updates on as many of you as possible.
For our last Reunion in 2004, Nancy Harrison did a great job putting together a very detailed questionnaire. More than 100 of our classmates responded with some very interesting results, including the facts that, at that time, 54% of us were working either full or part time and only 15% of us had married children.
For this Reunion, we'd like to focus on how we're using our time today. We'd like to know what you're doing and what, if anything, you're really passionate about. What area of your life is the most meaningful to you and brings you the greatest joy? Are you doing something really interesting with your free time—volunteering, pursuing a hobby or a dream that you have always had? Are you still involved in a career that you really care about or have you found a second career that keeps you interested and motivated? Do you spend lots of time with your grandchildren or taking care of other family members? Whatever you're doing that you're excited about and willing to write about, your classmates would like to know.
You'll see on the enclosed questionnaire that we're also asking a few additional questions that should be relatively easy to answer and which will provide all of us with some interesting collective data. There are two ways for you to submit your information. You can use the enclosed questionnaire, or if you prefer, you can visit the Class of 1964 Web site (www.skidmore.edu/alumni/classes/1964/1964.html), click on the class history icon, enter your information, print, and send it along to me in the enclosed envelope no later than February 5, 2009. Please submit your input whether or not you will be able to attend Reunion.

Dear Classmates,
On a sunny weekend in July, I met at Skidmore with Ellen Pomeranz Sax, Marilyn Bugg
Cooper, Lynne Tower Combs, Pat McAuley Kolff and Lynne Knobel to start planning our
45th reunion next May 28-31, 2009. Want a flashback to our last Reunion? You can relive the memories by clicking on

Those of you who attended our 40th and savored the elegant evening events will be equally delighted with what Ellen Pomeranz Sax (our Reunion Chair) has arranged for next May. Ellen scouted out several new venues and is planning a reception at the Mimosa Gallery in the heart of Saratoga's SoHo, the burgeoning Art District near Broadway, which will be followed by dinner at the Saratoga Golf and Polo Club on Friday night. On Saturday evening, we've made tentative plans to enjoy sipping our cocktails at President Val Wilson's former home, followed by a tented dinner at the home of Skidmore's current President, Philip A. Glotzbach. There's more – details to follow later this winter.
Your reunion committee also sampled on-campus housing, and I'm pleased to report that our class can stay as a group comfortably and reasonably in the Northwoods Apartments near Scribner Village. We'll have our own '64 neighborhood in these condo-like apartments that are simply furnished and feature two full bathrooms for each three and four bedroom units. We'll also have our own Hospitality Suite!
I hope you've noticed over the past four years that we have not bugged you with phone
calls asking for money. Letters, yes, but no calls. That is about to change! Lynne
Tower Combs and Bev Fuhrman Gregory chair our fund-raising committee. As a class,
we want to fund a new Term Professorship similar to our 40th Reunion gift. Let me
assure you, achieving our goal will be a challenge in these tough economic times.
But it is a milestone Reunion and you are members of an extraordinary class, so we're
counting on and hoping for your generous participation.
I will be writing frequently in the coming months to keep you informed about events we are planning for next May. For now I ask one thing: SAVE THE DATE – May 28-31, 2009. It's going to be a fun weekend! It's also a chance to renew your ties to Skidmore and to your friends in our exceptional Class of '64.
One last thing – while we made some decisions about events and fundraising goals, we are still open to your suggestions for making this Reunion special. Please be in touch with any ideas
