Dear Classmates,
Remember 2004? We were all packed up and ready to go. Click on image for full size

It seems hard to imagine that in less than 8 months we will be celebrating our 40th
reunion at Skidmore College! Even though our birthdays tell us otherwise, we are
definitely not old enough for such an event. Fortunately several members of the 1969
Reunion Planning Committee have recently been diagnosed with Selective Geriatric Dyslexia
(SGD), resulting in raucous group celebrations of our 16th birthdays…complete with
behaviors befitting of our revised age.
In late July the Reunion Planning Committee converged on Saratoga for three days
of imaginative brainstorming, culminating in an outline for what we expect will be
a record breaking and memorable 40th reunion. So mark your calendars now for May
28 - 31, 2009 and plan to be there.
Our theme for the weekend will be "Reflections on Skidmore 1969." The weekend will
be filled to the brim with fun, unexpected surprises, exciting events, and good old-fashion
laughter. To entice you with just a few of the many activities planned so far, we
will begin our Reflections on Thursday, May 28th with the always anticipated cocktail
reception at Dave Marcell's lovely home. This will be followed by an 'after glow'
at Falstaffs back on campus.
The Reunion Planning Committee has set high expectations for exceeding past attendance
and fundraising records. Think 69 + 40. With the help of all of you from the outstanding
class of 1969, we know our expectations will be met
Now is the time to start e-mailing and calling all those classmates you want to see
and get your plans rolling. If you have attended the past reunions, we look forward
to seeing you again. If you haven't been back to the college or Saratoga in a while,
you have a great treat in store.
So start Reflecting on Skidmore 1969…Do you remember meeting your freshman roommate,
wearing your bib, the blackout, the bomb scare on the New Campus, RFK's visit, the
mixers, the road trips, the all nighters, co-education, the class that finally made
it all come together? We look forward to seeing you there.
