Details of the artists’ works from 'Plugged'

This exhibition includes generative prints, digital photography, web design, and animation, as well as other digital media. Since graduating from Skidmore, these artists from across the Northeast have worked as art educators, professional photographers, and creative directors, as well as freelancers, animators, game designers, motion graphics designers and visual effects compositors.

Alumni exhibitions have occurred regularly by invitation in the Schick Art Gallery, and the studio art faculty was engaged in the search for the seven exhibiting artists featured in "Plugged." In plans that began nearly a year ago, the department knew that in 2009 the Schick would host a new media exhibition. Skidmore teaches courses in communication design as well as animation and digital video. In preliminary conversations, names began to surface of alumni that had been in the news and won awards in their respective fields. The gallery committee, consisting of four studio art faculty, narrowed the pool, paring it down to the seven exhibiting artists.

The Post Star newspaper published a review of this exhibition.
