Research interests:

Dr. Bogan is an evolutionary biologist trained in genomics and global change biology. The Bogan Lab investigates how the regulation and evolution of genomes drive acclimation and adaptation to environmental change. Focusing on non-model animals inhabiting rapidly changing climates, the lab’s mission is to improve genomic predictions of acclimation and adaptation to global change. The lab’s research on genome evolution focuses on the effects of demography and environmental stress on genome architecture and structural variation, and how these factors shape adaptation. A second aim of the lab is understanding whether and how the epigenetic regulation of genomes facilitates acclimation.
