Jacqui Conrad to depart Skidmore College

January 18, 2023

Dear Skidmore Community,

With great regret, I write to share that Jacqui Conrad, vice president for communications and marketing, has decided that she must resign from her Skidmore position for personal family reasons. I am saddened that we must bid farewell to such a valued colleague so soon, but I respect and support her decision.

Jacqui's last day will be March 1, and a search for a new vice president will begin immediately. After March 1, and to assist with a smooth transition of leadership, Jacqui will work on a part-time interim basis until a new vice president is appointed.

Since arriving at Skidmore last summer, Jacqui has made innumerable contributions, overseeing communications for the return of a particularly busy fall semester, offering invaluable counsel to myself and Cabinet, working diligently on several projects, from DEI matters to wayfinding plans, and very importantly, partnering closely with key partners across campus to adeptly share what makes Skidmore so special. Perhaps most notably, she has worked tirelessly on behalf of her communications and marketing team, keenly identifying efficiencies and opportunities for growth and restructuring. In turn, she leaves a strong team empowered to put creative thought to work each day in service of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni community.

Jacqui extended this message to the Skidmore community: “This Skidmore position is the job of my dreams and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with this community. This decision was not an easy one and is a deeply personal one. It has been an honor to work for such an esteemed higher ed institution, and I am grateful to the Skidmore community for welcoming me into this warm and very special place with such open arms. You have all made this experience such a lovely and memorable one.”

The College will reconvene the search committee for this position and once again work closely with Storbeck Search to promptly identify potential candidates, while maintaining absolute focus on attracting exceptionally qualified individuals for this important leadership role. Our goal is to fill the position for the start of fiscal year 2023-24. As with the other ongoing vice-presidential searches, information and updates will be added to this website as available.

Jacqui has been a supportive and hard-working colleague who has made important contributions to our strategic priorities. I am grateful for all she has done for Skidmore. Please join me in wishing Jacqui and her family well and in thanking her for her thoughtful leadership.

Sincerely,

Marc Conner
President
