PC Membership

Membership: Five faculty members with tenure, at least one of whom must come from each of the four divisions, none of whom is on the Appointments and Tenure Committee (ATC), the Committee on Academic Freedom and Rights (CAFR), the Faculty Advisory Board (FAB), or the Tenure Review Board (TRB), elected to serve three-year terms.  Members of the PC may not participate in the promotion cases of candidates in their own departments, or in the promotion cases of candidates for whom they submit internal letters.  Members of PC who are candidates for promotion must be recused from their own cases.  As needed, replacement committee members will be selected from recent members of the former CAPT, the ATC, the PC, and the TRB.  The first eligible faculty member will be chosen from a list beginning with the  most recent past members of the named groups.  Eligible replacements must have reviewed at least one case.  The Chair of the PC is responsible for identifying replacements unless the Chair is the member to be replaced.  In that instance, the remaining members of the PC choose another committee member to serve as a substitute Chair, including responsibility for identifying a replacement member for the case in question.
