White Paper

The Working Group’s charge is to “develop a mission-driven and formative assessment methodology to center and prioritize teaching and learning that is supportive of all students. The assessment methodology should use multiple measures of quality teaching and be explicitly linked to summative faculty evaluation structures such as tenure, promotion, and periodic reviews.” This report responds to item 5 of our charge: “Assess Skidmore’s current practices, in light of the dimensions of inclusive and accessible teaching, and the evidence and methods identified through this process.” This report documents the current state of our practices. It does not reflect a change to current practice or policy, nor does it suggest potential revisions. Instead, this report aims to document, as clearly and thoroughly as possible, our current state.
