Ryan Greer '08 launches social enterprise that promotes literacy

Ryan Greer ’08 is co-founder of online children’s book retailer BookBugs (www.bookbugs.net), a for-profit company that donates one of out of every three books sold to nonprofit agencies helping underprivileged kids learn to read.  Greer, who serves as chief operating officer and direct of social impact, says the firm’s business model allows consumers to invest in their communities in a meaningful way while helping agencies such as the Compass Youth Collaborative distribute new books selected specifically for their students.  A former federal government employee, Greer holds a master’s in public policy from Georgetown University.
