Six gold medals in a row for Skidmore chefs

Skidmore College’s dining services team recently earned its sixth consecutive gold medal for culinary excellence in an American Culinary Federation-sanctioned competition on June 8 at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The event was a highlight of the 24th Annual Chef Culinary Conference, a premier gathering for high-volume kitchens and campus chefs. 

Skidmore opens new venue for Saratoga Classic horse show

The Skidmore College Saratoga Classic Horse Show celebrated its 21st annual year of operation with the opening of its new home at White Hollow Farm. The bucolic farm is located in Stillwater, New York, and was gifted to the college from the estate of the late Robert R. Rosenheim.

Creativity goes viral at FIFA World Cup

Nigeria's uniform at the FIFA World Cup is a cultural sensation. Around the world, it's being hailed as “instantly-iconic,” “the most stylish,” and promoting “Nigerian swagger.” Matt Wolff '12, a graphic designer at Nike, is the man behind it.

Decoda Chamber Music Ensemble

Among the midsummer events held across campus are public performances by the Decoda Chamber Music Ensemble, July 10, 12, and 17, as well as the fifth annual Frances Day, a summer open-house celebration held on July 14 at the Tang Museum, held in honor of its namesake Frances Young Tang '61.

Skidmore athletics names two new head coaches

Jessica Turner has been appointed head coach of the Thoroughbred women’s basketball program, and Joe Martin was tapped as Skidmore’s head men’s lacrosse coach. Turner is the former assistant coach at Middlebury College, and Martin is the former assistant head lacrosse coach at the University of North Carolina.
