Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Award-winning author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie will present the 2022 Steloff Lecture at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, in the Tang Teaching Museum’s Payne Room. Born in Nigeria to an Igbo family, she moved to the United States to complete her graduate education and has authored fiction and nonfiction works. Among her many accolades, she was the recipient of a 2008 MacArthur Genius Grant.

Professor of American Studies Daniel Nathan

Professor of American Studies Daniel Nathan will present the 2022 Moseley Faculty Lecture at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in Gannett Auditorium, Palamountain Hall. The lecture will use the American sporting past (with an emphasis on baseball and the life and career of Hall of Famer Buck O’Neil) to consider how sport, race, and collective memory reflect and inform cultural values.

Join us for a special performance by Caroline Shaw and Sō Percussion at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in a free event sponsored by Saratoga Performing Arts Center and the Tang. Opening Saturday, Oct. 1, is the new exhibition “Parallax: Framing the Cosmos,” co-curated by the Tang and Associate Professor of English Maggie Greaves.

Faculty mentoring a student

The ZEN Mentoring Program pairs Skidmore juniors with alumni mentors based on shared career interests. After a successful pilot last year, the program is being expanded in 2022-23, and recruitment is underway for mentors. Learn more and apply to be a mentor here.
