The Office of Communications and Marketing promotes and protects the reputation of Skidmore College by working closely with academic departments, faculty, student organizations and administrative units and by proactively engaging with internal and external audiences. Through a broad range of communication and marketing strategies, the team shines a spotlight on the College and its students, faculty and alumni.
Communications and Marketing staff oversee College news and multimedia content, production of alumni publications Scope magazine and Scope Monthly, event marketing and promotion, video production, photography, media and external relations, community engagement, web programming and design, custom application development, integration of the College’s content management system and web support and user training.
The team also develops and implements strategic marketing initiatives designed to promote Skidmore academics, student life, admissions and recruitment efforts and advancement programs. Staff members utilize print and digital design, graphic standards, branding opportunities, email communications, social media, digital marketing and advertising to connect with various audiences.
The Skidmore Shop also plays a significant role in Skidmore’s campus-wide branding, visibility, external relations, marketing and engagement efforts. The Shop, which assists and supports the College’s educational experience as a source of textbooks and academic supplies, is also a marketing, engagement and brand showcase.
