Professor Wali earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Clarkson University, New York in 2024 with a dissertation titled, "Study of Bias and Underrepresentation in Natural Language Processing (NLP) Toolchain Across Human Languages". Her research interests are Fairness in Artificial Intelligence (AI), focusing on studying state-of-the-art NLP tools and their support for human languages. She has authored/co-authored various papers in the area. Professor Wali teaches courses at all levels of the Computer Science curriculum, with a focus on Algorithms and Machine Learning.
