Spend this summer at Skidmore

March 22, 2016

Saratoga is known as “the summer place to be,” and Skidmore is getting the same reputation.

During their Skidmore careers, many students spend a summer on campus, typically mixing campus time with off-campus fun at the Saratoga racetrack, performing arts center, or nearby mountains and lakes. Along with the famous jazz, arts, dance, writing, and other workshops, and along with the popular student-faculty summer research program, students may discover a variety of jobs, apprenticeships, or internships. And spending part or all of a summer at Skidmore often includes on-campus housing, in the Northwoods Village apartments.

For any of these summer experiences, early planning is essential. That’s why a “Summer at Skidmore” fair will showcase the opportunities on Friday, March 25, in Case Center. Explore the options, ask questions—and grab a snack or giveaway—at the fair anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., on the second floor of Case.

Credit-bearing courses on offer this summer range from “The Social Skin: Gender, Beauty and Body” to “Business Law I” to “Intro to American Studies: The Wizard of Oz.” For full listings and details, click here or call 518-580-5458. Registration is already open.

Now is also the time to look into campus housing, by emailing Stephanie Wyld, visiting the summer-housing website, or calling 518-580-5598.

Those unable to attend the fair are welcome anytime to talk with Summer Programs staff at 518-580-5590, summer@skidmore.edu, or the office on the second floor of Filene Hall.
