Skidmore Retirees

Ryan Espinosa

Ryan Espinosa, a Skidmore College media services technician, died unexpectedly in September 2017. He was 30 years old.

Ryan was a graduate of the University of North Dakota in Fargo, where he completed an independent study program. Before joining Skidmore, he worked as a technical project lead at Ronco Specialized Systems in Latham, and earlier as a satellite and PC technician for Northeast Satellite Sales in his hometown of Greenwich.

He began working with Skidmore’s Information Technology office, as a technician in media services, in March 2016.  Media Services’ director, Mike Forbes ’12, remarks, “Ryan was always happy, and always helpful to everyone at Skidmore.  He was willing to go above and beyond what was asked to get the job done, making everyone else’s job a little bit easier even if it was more work for him.”

Colleague Ron Taylor adds, “Ryan was a skillful problem-solver and great at making quick repairs.  In the office, he was friendly, outgoing, and always ready to assist and train our student workers.  We will really miss him.”

His mother survives Ryan.
