Frank Nesbitt

Frank Nesbitt, who retired as a supervisor in Facilities Services, died on Dec. 9, 2022. He was 73.

Frank, who lived in Winter Haven, Florida, was surrounded by family, including his wife of 55 years, Rose.

He served Skidmore from 1969 until his retirement in 1998. Early in his career, Frank worked as a groundskeeper, maintenance worker, boiler operator, and patrol officer. In 1979, he was promoted to assistant supervisor of grounds and transportation. He was also active as a union officer and chaired the Labor Management Committee for several years. In 1989, he became maintenance supervisor and supervisor of maintenance and trades in 1995.

Colleagues described Frank’s integrity and commitment to his work and family.

“He cared about those he worked with and about the campus, and he always wanted things to be done right,” recalled Maintenance Mechanic Kevin Lloyd, who worked under Frank on the grounds crew.

In addition to Rose, Frank is survived by his six children, Kimberly Clifton (William), Deborah Curcio (William Drumm), Frank Nesbitt (Beth), Michael Nesbitt (Michelle), Jeffrey Nesbitt (Rebecca), and Stacy Gallardo, as well as his grandchildren.
