Each summer talented young musicians are brought to their next level of musicianship at the Skidmore Jazz Institute. To encourage diversity, the Institute established a scholarship fund to attract students with promise who would otherwise be unable to attend. Many of our former students have gone on to establish successful careers in the music industry (check out Trombone Shorty, Kendrick Scott, Jonathan Batiste, Ryan Cohan, Walter Smith and Myron Walden just to name a few).
