ELL Specialist on Staff

The Writing Center staffs a ELL specialist to serve as a resource for faculty and students. Thad holds tutoring hours on the Writing Center schedule and can also be contacted directly via email for an appointment or a consultation.
Students can contact the specialist for help in:
- Understanding assignments or professor feedback
- Preparing essays
- Navigating language issues
- Learning techniques they can employ on their own
Faculty can contact the specialist in order to:
- Learn more about the ELL population at Skidmore, especially the opportunities and challenges that are unique to our liberal arts setting
- Discuss the implications of mixed-fluency learners for course design
- Find ways to integrate English-language study in courses across the curriculum
- Explore pertinent ELL-related research
