The Kenan Chair of Liberal Arts

The Kenan Chair of Liberal Arts, representing the College’s appreciation of a major challenge grant afforded Skidmore by the William R. Kenan Jr. Charitable Trust, may be appointed from any disciplinary areas of study at Skidmore. Kenan Chairs will typically serve for five years and will represent the institution both internally and externally as distinguished faculty and ambassadors to the larger intellectual community. Members of the faculty will address nominations to the Dean of the Faculty and Vice President for Academic Affairs, who will consult with the Promotions Committee, the Department, and, when applicable, the Program concerned, in making a recommendation.
