Skidmore College is in Saratoga Springs, New York, a summer destination known for dining, arts and culture, outdoor recreation, and thoroughbred racing.

Parking

All vehicles parked on campus must be registered at the Summer Registration Desk at check-in. Overnight guests receive a free parking pass, which must be displayed while parked on campus.

  • Daytime parking: Case Lot, Tower Lot, North Hall Lot, Harder Hall Lot, Palamountain Lots, Sports Center Parking Lot, Dance Theater/Lodge Parking Lot, and Perimeter Road parallel spaces. Overnight parking is not permitted in these locations from 2 to 7 a.m.
  • Overnight parking: Wait Lot, West Lot, Tang Lot, Arts Quad A, Arts Quad B, Northwoods Village, Sussman Village, and Falstaff's Lot. A valid guest parking pass is required.
  • 30-minute spaces: Observe posted time limits and use vehicle flashers.
  • Parking restrictions: Do not park in roadways, no-parking zones, fire lanes, loading areas, lawns, sidewalks, or accessible spaces unless authorized. Vehicles that block emergency access or violate campus parking rules may be ticketed or towed.
  • Parking fines: Fines may be paid to the Accounts Payable Office in Barrett Center.

Dining

  • Murray-Aikins Dining Hall: Open daily.
    • Breakfast: 7:30–10 a.m. — $11 plus tax
    • Lunch: 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. — $14.75 plus tax
    • Dinner: 5–7:15 p.m. — $16.75 plus tax
  • Atrium Café: Open daily, 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
  • Burgess Café: Open Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
  • The Spa: Open Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–2 p.m.

Recreation

Summer guests may have access to campus recreation facilities during posted hours. Check with your program staff for access requirements and availability.

Campus resources

  • Lucy Scribner Library: Public computers and printers are available. Check with your program director about your group's library privileges. Call 518-580-5502 or visit the library website.
  • IT Help Desk: Located in Lucy Scribner Library.
    • Monday–Thursday: 8:30 a.m.–10 p.m.
    • Friday: 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
    • Sunday: noon–5 p.m.
    • Closed Saturday
  • Tang Teaching Museum:
    • Thursday: noon–9 p.m.
    • Friday–Sunday: noon–5 p.m.
  • Skidmore Shop: Open Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Post Office: USPS, FedEx, and UPS services. Open Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–3:55 p.m. Closed on federal holidays.

Wi-Fi, computers, and printing

  • Guest Wi-Fi: Available in residence halls and academic buildings. Select "SummerGuest-Wifi." Password: summer2026.
  • Public computers: Available primarily in Lucy Scribner Library and Case Center. Check with your program coordinator about access and use.
  • Public printing: Available in Lucy Scribner Library during scheduled hours. Public printing is not available on Saturdays.
  • Print Services: Located on the first floor of Case Center and available through your Skidmore program coordinator. Services include black-and-white and color printing and copying, cutting, binding, lamination, folding, and more.

Getting around

Downtown Saratoga Springs is about a 15-minute walk from Skidmore along North Broadway. Local transit, taxi, rideshare, train, and bus options are also available.

  • Local transit: CDTA FLEX On Demand provides service within Saratoga Springs. View CDTA FLEX information or call 518-482-8822.
  • Taxi and rideshare: Taxi service, Uber, and Lyft are available in the Saratoga Springs area.
  • Train and bus: The Saratoga Springs Amtrak station serves the Ethan Allen Express and Adirondack routes and connects with intercity bus services. View Amtrak schedules and tickets.

Housekeeping and maintenance

For housekeeping or maintenance problems, call the Summer Registration Desk at 518-580-5686. Staff will contact the appropriate department and follow up on your request.

For urgent after-hours maintenance issues, call Campus Safety at 518-580-5567.

  • Housekeeping: Public lounges and bathrooms are cleaned and serviced Monday–Friday. Housekeepers do not clean occupied guest rooms or apartments.
  • Waste and recycling: Use the marked landfill and recycling containers provided in your residence area.
    • Residence halls: Waste and recycling bins are located in each kitchenette.
    • Apartment villages: Guests are responsible for bringing trash and recycling to the marked dumpsters in Northwoods Village or Sussman Village.
  • Laundry: Washers and dryers are available in residence halls and apartment villages at no charge. Detergent is not provided.

Your Skidmore ID card

Your Skidmore ID card may serve several purposes during your stay:

  • Campus identification
  • Meal card
  • Room key
  • Pre-paid spending balance for campus purchases

You may add funds to your declining-balance account with cash at machines on the ground floor of Case Center and in the Dining Hall Atrium, or by credit card online.

  • Remaining balance: If your account has $10 or more remaining at the end of your stay, ask your program staff or the Summer Registration Desk about available refund times. Balances below $10 are not refundable.
  • Lost cards: Replacement cards are available at the Summer Registration Desk for $25. Once replaced, the original card will be deactivated and cannot be reactivated.

Before you leave

  • Check-out: Check-out is by 11 a.m.
  • Lock your room or apartment when you leave.
  • You do not need to check out at the Summer Registration Desk or return your ID card.
