FYE Checklist

Accessed via the Skidmore Student System, the FYE Checklist is your summer to-do list with weekly tasks to help you stay on track for fall arrival. Remember to check it regularly as you'll have assignments ranging from academic placement exercises to critical forms and documents due May–September.

Scribner Seminars

Start your Skidmore education with a Scribner Seminar: a first-year course built around big questions, faculty curiosity, and close conversation. Your professor also serves as your advisor, and a peer mentor helps you navigate academics, campus life, and the transition to college.

First-Year Experience Backus Prize winners

The First-Year Experience Prize, supported with the generosity of Candace Carlucci Backus ’66, is awarded annually to up to three projects by first-year students in recognition of exceptional scholarly or artistic achievement in the fall’s Scribner Seminars.
