Move-in & Move-out Calendar
Please review these key dates when residence halls and apartments open and close during the academic year. There may be instances where these dates do not apply to you (e.g. fall athletes arrive early), so please use this as the schedule for the majority of students. If a time is not specified, please confer with your sponsoring program (e.g. FYE Peer Mentors) or read your email for details.
For move-in and move-out policies and procedures, please review the Residential Life Handbook. Common calendar-related concerns are also addressed in our frequently asked questions.

What to know about opening and closing
Read more details in our handbook
Arriving on campus
Students should arrive on their assigned date and time. Early arrival (or late departure) requires advance approval from the Office of Residential Life and is generally limited to students with approved campus responsibilities or extenuating circumstances. Students arriving with a sponsored group, such as athletics, orientation, or student employment, should follow the instructions provided by that program.
Leaving for College breaks
Students should leave campus by 10 a.m. on the break-closing date shown on the calendar unless they have been approved to stay later. Students who need to remain on campus during a break must register for break housing; Residential Life sends registration instructions before each closing period.
Moving out at the end of the year
First-year, sophomore, and junior students should leave campus within 24 hours of their last final and no later than the published closing time. Graduating seniors follow the Senior Week and commencement move-out schedule.
Before you leave your room or apartment
Students must complete the required checkout process and remove all personal belongings. Rooms and apartments should be left clean, with College furniture in place. Apartment residents are also responsible for cleaning kitchens and bathrooms. Residential Life inspects spaces after move-out, and items left behind are considered abandoned.
